A Henna Tattoo is Better Than Permanent – Here’s Why!

What is the difference between a henna tattoo and a permanent tattoo? Which type of tattoo is better?

Both henna tattoos and permanent tattoos are considered body art. Both types originated from the early tribes who made body markings an important part of their rituals and traditions. Currently, both types are very popular in different parts of the world. Some people even combine henna tattoos and permanent ones on their bodies, which just shows that both types of body art can co-exist.

One major difference of course, is the permanence of the tattoo. Henna tattoos can only last for 2 weeks, 3 weeks, at the most while a permanent tattoo will stay on your skin for the remainder of your life, unless of course you decide to have it removed. In terms of the level of pain that it can give a person, henna tattoos are basically painless. Since permanent tattoos change the pigment of the skin permanently, needles have to be inserted to the skin layers which make it a painful process.

Most people still prefer to have the permanent tattoos because it offers a whole lot more when it comes to the variety of designs and colors that it offers. There is virtually no limit to the designs that a tattoo artist can create, for as long as it fits the area of the skin. One can choose from a thousand tattoo designs that are already available (Flash sheets) or have one created to fit one’s preferences.

While both types of body art are very popular to the younger generation, there are also risks that can occur with having foreign elements incorporated into the skin. Allergies can occur, especially if the skin is sensitive to the active ingredients found on the inks that are used for tattooing.

For people planning to have either type of body art, they have to first make sure of the ingredients that are found in tattoo inks. It is also best to make sure that the equipments that will be used are clean and sanitized as well. It is always better to be safe than sorry when trying out anything that is new.
